Therapy Unfolding
I start by gathering information, identifying goals, and creating a plan to meet them. During treatment, I focus on creating a solid foundation of knowledge related to the issue(s).
Together, we’ll revisit experiences, and the thoughts, feelings, and responses that come up. I work with my clients so they can learn more about themselves, build a greater understanding of what’s going on, and move forward with confidence.
Counselling Approach
Overall, I work from an emotionally-focused lens, incorporating research around human attachment, and the involvement of our brain and nervous system. As humans, we are at our best when we are able to manage our feelings, and are able to meet our need to create strong, intimate connections.
I also incorporate a variety of strategies from other modalities including solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), and mindfulness.
